GCIAD Tunisia Visit November 2017

A GCIAD delegation has visited Tunisia by the end of November 2017. This visit was mainly to look for any possibilities to colaborate our work specially on the issue of sustaining peace and development with African states starting with Tunisia. This was very fruitfull meeting between GCIAD and key persons on political, NGOs, trade and union. We have agreed on the issues of:
- Encourage Tunisia to continue using diplomatic means in resolving the regional conflicts
- Support Tunisia to pursue its efforts on sustaining the democratic process and appreciating the ongoing agenda of the direct election of mayors
- Share the experience of the democratic process of a country such as Indonesia for transparency , accountability and governance using e-procurement and e-biding
- building good communication and strenghtening cooperation within GCIAD and involved parties especially on economic development, sustaining democracy, peace and prosperity in the region. We have also discussed on the issue on fighting corruption trough special law regulation and bodies (learning from Indonesia expeeiences)
- Highlights the importance of women empowerment as part of the democratic process
- Stresses the goal of UN2030 agenda on sustainable development as a priority of our engagement
We have appreciated the role of ” Jasmin foundation” in the organization of the visit and its achievements
